Kasahari Varti
A medicated wick made from Trikatu and Manahshila, burned and inhaled as fumes to relieve cough.
Kasahari Varti — Overview
Kasahari Varti (Kasattinutiri) is a medicated wick preparation used in the form of therapeutic smoke inhalation. It is made from Sunthi, Maricha, Pippali, and Manahshila pounded with Bhringaraja Swarasa (Kayyonni Toya).
The paste is spread over a cloth and rolled into a varti (wick); ghee is applied over it, and it is lit so the patient can inhale the medicinal fumes. It is specifically indicated for Kasa (cough), particularly chronic or stubborn forms.
