Karpurasava
Camphor-based fermented preparation used primarily for cholera (Visuchika).
Karpurasava — Overview
Karpurasava is a camphor-based fermented preparation using Prasanna (1 tulaa) as the liquid base, Karpura (8 pala) as the principal drug, and supporting additions of Ela, Mustha, Sunthi, Yavanika, and Vidanga — one pala each. After being sealed in earthenware and buried for a month, it is filtered and preserved.
Its specific indication is Visuchika (cholera / acute gastroenteritis with vomiting and purging).
