Kapitthashtaka Choorna

A digestive and astringent choorna with Kapittha, Bilwa, Dadima and Trikatu, used for diarrhea, malabsorption, wasting and respiratory disorders.

Kapitthashtaka Choorna — Overview

Kapitthashtaka Choorna is named after its principal ingredient Kapittha (wood apple, 8 parts). Its full formula contains Yavani, Pippali moola, Chaturjataka, Sunthi, Maricha, Chitraka, Mustha, Ajaji, Dhanyaka and Souvarchala (1 part each); Vrikshamla, Dhataki, Pippali, Bilwa, Dadima and Ajamoda (3 parts each); sugar (6 parts) and Kapittha (8 parts).

It is indicated for diarrhea (Atisara), malabsorption (Grahani), wasting (Kshaya), abdominal tumors (Gulma), throat disorders, cough, asthma, low digestive fire (Mandagni), hemorrhoids, chronic rhinitis (Pinasa) and loss of appetite (Aruchi).
