Gulmakulantaka Rasa — Overview
Gulmakulantaka Rasa (literally "destroyer of the family of Gulma") is a mercurial preparation indicated for abdominal tumors of Vata origin (Vata Gulma), cough, hoarseness of voice (Swarasada), weak digestion (Agnimandya), leucoderma (Switra), Jalakurma, splenic disorders, hemorrhoids, and skin diseases (Kushta).
It is prepared in two stages. First, Ayaschoorna (5 nishka), Gandhaka (2 nishka), Manahshila (2 nishka), and Parada (1 nishka) are pounded with Kumari Swarasa and exposed to sunlight, then powdered. Vyosha (3 pala), Saindhava (3 pala), and Abhaya (6 pala) are added, and the mixture is further pounded with Bhringaraja Swarasa and rolled into pills the size of Chana.
