Gulmahara Kashaya
A group of decoctions for Gulma (abdominal tumors/masses), including Raktagulma and associated pain syndromes.
Gulmahara Kashaya — Overview
Gulmahara Kashaya is a group of decoctions for Gulma (abdominal tumors, masses, or gaseous lumps). The first formula offers two alternatives: Dasamoola with Sunthi and Devadaru, or Chitraka with Pippalimoola, castor, and Sunthi — for Gulma.
The second formula combines Rakta Punarnava, Bilwa, Kulattha, castor, Sahachara, Sunthi, and Agnimandha — administered with jaggery, rock salt, Pippali, and Hingu. It addresses constipation, low digestive fire, severe menstrual pain, cardiac pain, flank pain, back pain, pelvic pain, Ashtila, Gulma, and splenomegaly. The third formula uses Pippali, Satahwa, two Karanja species, Devadaru, Bharangi, Kulattha, sesame, and garlic with Hingu, indicated specifically for Raktagulma (blood-related abdominal mass).
