Duralabharishta

Fermented preparation based on Duralabha used as a carminative for hemorrhoids, anemia, skin diseases and abdominal disorders.

Duralabharishta — Overview

Duralabharishta is prepared from one prastha (16 pala) of Duralabha (Fagonia cretica) decocted in one drona of water and reduced to one-quarter. It is then fermented with Danti moola, Patha, Agni (Chitraka), Vijaya (Haritaki), Vasa, Amalaka and Nagara, along with sugar. The earthen pot is prepared by coating its inner walls with a paste of Phalini, Krishna, Chavya, Ghrita and Madhu before sealing.

Like Dantyarishta, it is a carminative digestive tonic (Anulomaka, Agni Vardhaka) used for hemorrhoids, malabsorption, anemia, skin diseases, abdominal disorders, fever, edema, heart disease, tumors, tuberculosis, vomiting and worms.
