A large polyherbal medicated ghee named after Dhanvantari, used for a wide range of chronic disorders including abscesses, anemia, abdominal tumors, hemorrhoids, wasting, respiratory illness, and skin diseases.

Dhanvantari Ghrita — Overview

Dhanvantari Ghrita is an elaborate polyherbal medicated ghee named after the celestial physician Dhanvantari. The paste (Kalka) includes Pippali, Gajapippali, Chavya, Vacha, Bhukadamba, Rohisha, Trivrit, Vidanga, Kampilla, Bharangi and Sunthi. It is cooked in cow's ghee with a large Kashaya prepared from Dasamoola, Sathi, Danti, Devadaru, both Punarnavas, Snuhi and Arka roots, Haritaki, Bhallataka, Karanja, Varuna moola, Pippali, Pushkara moola, along with Yava, Kola and Kulattha.

Its indications are exceptionally broad: Prameha Pitika (diabetic carbuncles), Pandu (anemia), Vidradhi (abscess), Gulma (abdominal tumors), Arshas (hemorrhoids), Sosha (wasting), Sopha (edema), Garavisha (chronic poisoning), Udara roga, Swasa (asthma), Kasa (cough), Krimi (worms), Vriddhi (hernia), Pleeha (splenomegaly), Vatarakta (gout), Kushta (skin diseases), Unmada (insanity) and Apasmara (epilepsy).
