Devadarvarishta — Overview
Devadarvarishta is an elaborate fermented preparation headed by Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) and Vasa, supported by Manjishta, Indrayava, Danti, Tagara, Rajani dwaya, Rasna, Krimighna, Mustha, Sirisha, Yavani, Asana, Chandana, Guduchi, Rohini and Chitraka. The decoction is reduced to one-eighth and fermented with honey, Dhataki, Vyosha, Trijataka, Priyangu and Nagakesara.
It is indicated in diabetic and urinary disorders (Prameha), neurological disorders (Vataroga), malabsorption (Grahani), hemorrhoids (Arshas), painful urination (Mutrakricchra), and skin diseases (Kushta). The broad herbal base makes it a versatile tridoshic formulation.
