Churnasara

A digestive powder made from curry leaves, neem leaves, and warming spices, used as an appetizer and general health tonic.

Churnasara (Veppalakatti) — Overview

Churnasara, known locally as Veppalakatti, is a simple digestive powder prepared from curry leaves (Kalasaka), Jambeera (lemon) leaves, Nimba (neem) leaves, Sunthi, Maricha, Jeeraka, Yavani, and Saindhava (rock salt). The drugs are sun-dried and ground into a fine powder.

It acts as an Agni Deepaka (kindler of digestive fire), Laghutakaraka (lightness-promoting), Ruchya (appetizer), and is described as Sarva roga Hitakari — beneficial in all diseases as a general digestive and health tonic.
