Chitraka Guda — Overview
Chitraka Guda is a jaggery-based electuary built on a Chitraka root decoction. Half a tulaa of Chitraka root is decocted in one drona of water reduced to one-fourth, combined with eight pala of aged jaggery, and cooked into a lehya. Trikatu, Satapushpa, Haritaki, Kushta, Mustha, Dalchini, Vidanga, Chitraka and Ela are added as prakshepa dravya.
Its therapeutic indications include hemorrhoids, skin diseases, spleen disorders, abdominal tumors, abdominal disorders and weak digestive fire (agnimandya).
