A major rejuvenative electuary with Chopchini, Guggulu, purified sulphur, Trikatu, Triphala and aromatics, used for skin diseases, diabetic boils, hemorrhoids and fistula.

Brihat Madhusnuhi Rasayana — Overview

Brihat Madhusnuhi Rasayana is a major rejuvenative lehya centered on Madhusnuhi (Chopchini, Smilax china), Mahisakshi Guggulu and purified sulphur (Suddha Gandhaka), each at four pala. It also contains Trikatu, Triphala, Trijataka, Jatiphala, Patra, Chitraka, Lavanga, Dhanyaka, Godhuma-Barley-Yava, Vidanga, Chavya, Kushta, Trivrit, Pippali moola, Aswagandha, Bharangi, Malkangini and Nagakesara (two nishka each), along with twelve pala each of Sitopala and ghee. One prastha of honey is added after cooling.

The standard dose is one karsha early in the morning with pathya ahara. It is indicated for skin diseases (kushta), leucoderma, diabetic boils (prameha pitika), anal fistula (bhagandhara), hemorrhoids, tumors, cervical lymphadenitis (gandamala), itching, gout (vatarakta) and pitta-type ulcers of the genitals.
