Brahmi Ghrita — Overview
Brahmi Ghrita is a classical medhya (nootropic) and purifying medicated ghee. The Kalka Dravya includes Vyosha (Trikatu), Shyama Trivrit, Danti, Shankhapushpi, Aragwadha, Saptala and Vidanga (one tola each), with cow's ghee and Brahmi juice (2 prastha) as the base and liquid component. The formulation is administered in progressively increasing doses starting with one pala per week and going up to a maximum of four pala.
It is indicated in Unmada (insanity), Kushtha (skin diseases), Apasmara (epilepsy) and as a Vandhya hara (removing infertility in women). It also enhances Vani (speech), Swara (voice), Smriti (memory) and Medha (intellect).
