Fermented tonic prepared from Bhringaraja juice used for wasting disorders and chronic cough.

Bhringarajasava — Overview

Bhringarajasava is a fermented tonic made from Bhringaraja rasa (1 drona), jaggery (200 pala), Haritaki (1 prastha), and Pippali (2 pala), with aromatic additions of Jatiphala, Lavanga, Twak, Ela Patri, and Nagakesara (1 tola each). The mixture is sealed in earthenware, buried for a month, and then filtered and preserved.

Its classical actions and indications are Dhatu Kshaya (tissue wasting), Panchavidha Kasa (the five classical types of cough), and Pushtikaraka (nourishing / anabolic).
