Bala Soolari Choorna — Overview

Bala Soolari Choorna is a classical compound powder described in Sahasra Yoga, formulated to address deep-seated wasting conditions and respiratory complaints. Its principal ingredients include Hingu (asafoetida), Kathini, Mayaphala, Ela (cardamom), Pippali (long pepper), Yavani, Yashtimadhu, Bhringaraja, Karpura (camphor) and Raktachandana (red sandalwood), each taken in one tola, along with Garuda Paccha (two tolas) and musk (Kasturi).

The formulation is traditionally indicated in Kshaya (wasting/tuberculosis), Kasa (cough), Swasa (asthma/dyspnea), the eight types of Bala Sosha (childhood emaciation), Kukshi Roga (abdominal disease), Gulma, Hridroga (heart disease), Vataroga and Chardi (vomiting).
