Ashtanga Ghrita

A memory-enhancing medicated ghee containing eight nootropic herbs including Vacha, Brahmi, Shankhapushpi and Guduchi, used to promote longevity, intellect and speech.

Ashtanga Ghrita — Overview

Ashtanga Ghrita — literally “eight-limbed ghee” — is a classical nootropic formulation containing eight key medhya herbs: Vacha, Bakuchi (Indulekha), Manduki, Shankhapushpi, Satavari, Soma, Guduchi (Amruta) and Brahmi, one pala each. Cow's ghee (1 prastha) is cooked with cow's milk (4 prastha) as the Drava Dravya.

It is prized as a promoter of Ayushya (longevity), Vani (speech), Medha (intellect), Smriti (memory) and Buddhi (wisdom), making it a cornerstone formulation for children's cognitive development and for adults seeking to enhance mental faculties.
