Ashta Pallava Taila

A medicated oil prepared with eight herbal juices, used as Nasya and Abhyanga for chronic sinusitis (Putinasa).

Ashta Pallava Taila — Overview

Ashta Pallava Taila takes its name from the eight fresh leaf juices that form its liquid phase. The kalka consists of Saindhava Lavana and Kunduruska, with Tila Taila as the base oil. The drava dravyas are the swarasa of Tulasi, Grinjana (a variety of Palandu), Agastya, Nirgundi, Bahala (Sigru), Bhringaraja, Simhi (Brihati), and Varuna Patra.

It is used as Nasya (nasal instillation) and Abhyanga (massage), and is indicated in Putinasa — chronic sinusitis with foul-smelling nasal discharge.
