Ardraka Ghrita

A medicated ghee prepared with fresh ginger juice and milk used for abdominal pain, anemia and jaundice.

Ardraka Ghrita — Overview

Ardraka Ghrita is a simple but targeted medicated ghee. Its kalka consists of Kumbha (Eranda), Kumbhaka (Trivrit) and Nikumbha (Nagadanti). Cow's ghee is the base, and the drava dravyas are the juice of Ardraka (ginger), Haridra (Manyal) and cow's milk (Palu).

It is indicated specifically in Kumbhakamala — a severe and obstinate form of jaundice described in classical texts.
