Aravindasava — Overview
Aravindasava is a classical pediatric fermented tonic built around lotus (Aravinda) and a broad herbal base including Usira, Kashmarya, Nilotpala, Manjishta, Ela, Bala, Mamsi, Ambuda, Sariba, Haritaki, Vibhitaka, Vacha, Amalaki, Yashtimadhu, and others — one pala each — with Draksha, Dhataki Pushpa, water, sugar, and honey.
The drugs are sealed in an earthenware pot and buried for a month to ferment, then filtered and preserved. Its stated actions and indications are Sarva Balaroga (all childhood diseases), Bala and Pushti (strength and nourishment), Agni Vardhaka (digestive promoter), Ayurvardhaka (life-promoting), and Grahadosha nasaka (removes planetary/graha afflictions traditionally associated with pediatric illness).
