A Guduchi and Guggulu-based pill with Triphala, Trikatu, Vidanga and Trivrit used for Vatarakta (gout), skin diseases, wounds, rheumatoid arthritis and fistula.

Amruta Guggulu — Overview

Amruta Guggulu centers on Guduchi (Amruta) and Guggulu as its primary ingredients. It is prepared from Guduchi (1 prastha), Guggulu (½ prastha) and Triphala (¼ prastha each) decocted in 1 drona of water reduced to one-fourth, then combined with Danti, Vyosha (Trikatu), Vidanga, Guduchi and Triphala (½ pala each) and Trivrit (1 tola), and rolled into pills.

It is classically indicated in Vatarakta (gout), skin diseases, weak digestion, non-healing wounds (Dushta Vrana), diabetic disorders, Amavata (rheumatoid arthritis), fistula-in-ano, Vata disorders affecting the nerves and vital points (Nadi Marmasrita Vataroga), and edema. This formulation is traditionally attributed to the Ashwini Kumaras, the celestial physicians.
