Amavatari Rasa — Overview
Amavatari Rasa is a guggulu-based mercurial pill formulation for rheumatoid arthritis. It contains Parada (1 part), Gandhaka (2 parts), Triphala (3 parts), Chitraka (4 parts), and Guggulu (5 parts), pounded with Eranda Taila (castor oil).
It is administered in a dose of 1 karsha with castor oil and warm water as anupana. Milk and mudga (green gram) must be avoided during the course of treatment. It is indicated in severe rheumatoid arthritis (Amavata).
