Akulyadi Ghrita

Medicated ghee prepared with Satavari paste and an Akuli-bija based decoction, indicated for all types of Prameha (urinary and diabetic disorders).

Akulyadi Ghrita — Overview

Akulyadi Ghrita is a medicated ghee from the Ghrita Prakarana of Sahasra Yoga, named after its principal ingredient Akuli bija (Kasamarda seeds). The paste (Kalka) uses Satavari, while the liquid base combines a decoction of Akuli bija, Kataka, Paranti, Haridra, Saptarangi, Amalaka, Devadaru, Kimsuka bark, the four Punarnava group herbs, and Gokshura with two parts cow's milk.

It is indicated in all types of Prameha — the Ayurvedic family of chronic urinary and diabetic disorders — where its combination of bitter, astringent and rejuvenating herbs helps manage excess sweetness and impaired urinary function.
