Agnimukha Choorna

A digestive choorna with Hingu, Vacha, Pippali, Sunthi and Chitraka, used for vata disorders, indigestion, abdominal pain and cough.

Agnimukha Choorna — Overview

Agnimukha Choorna follows a graded proportion: Hingu (1 part), Vacha (2 parts), Pippali (3 parts), Sunthi (4 parts), Yavani (5 parts), Haritaki (6 parts), Chitraka (7 parts) and Kushta (8 parts).

For vata disorders it is taken with Prasanna (a fermented liquid); for Udavarta (reverse peristalsis), indigestion, splenomegaly, abdominal disorders, hemorrhoids, pain, abdominal tumors, cough, asthma and wasting it is taken with curd, whey, sura or lukewarm water. The same formulation is also mentioned in Yogaratnakara.
