Agnikumara Rasa — Overview
Agnikumara Rasa is a versatile mercurial pill formulation containing Maricha, Vacha, Kushta, and Mustha in equal parts with Vatsanabhi equal to the total. The ingredients are pounded with fresh ginger juice for three days before being rolled into 1 Gunja sized pills. It destroys ama dosha and kindles digestive fire.
It has a wide range of therapeutic uses depending on the vehicle (anupana): two pills with honey and ginger juice relieve ama jwara; with Nirgundi decoction for kapha jwara; with ginger juice for common cold; with Dasamoola decoction for edema; with Lavanga decoction for loss of appetite; with Sunthi decoction for grahani; with Kutaja decoction plus honey for chronic diarrhea; with Pippali decoction for early-stage sannipata fever; with Kantakari juice for cough; and with Tila-jaggery for asthma.
