Disturbances During Ovulation
During ovulation, some women experience pain and discomfort because apana vayu, ojas, tejas, and prana — all necessary for normal ovulation — become disturbed. The specific symptoms depend on which subtle energy is imbalanced:
- If tejas is intense: The woman develops hot flashes, nipple sensitivity, and tenderness in the breasts.
- If raw ojas within artava dhara kala is disturbed: The woman becomes emotional during ovulation, retains water, develops enlarged and tender breasts, becomes drowsy, and craves sweets due to imbalanced kapha.
- If apana vata is provoked: The woman develops low backache, muscle cramps, constipation, insomnia, anxiety, insecurity, nervousness, and fear of the unknown.
