Observing the Breath Without Interference

In Empty Bowl Meditation, one simply sits quietly and lets the lungs do their work without interference. The moment you try to control the breath, the pattern changes. By simply observing — lungs inhale and air goes in, lungs exhale and air goes out — the breathing becomes quiet and the gap of silence between inhalation and exhalation naturally increases.

This practice mirrors the moment of total awareness that arises with a sudden sense of wonder at a sunrise or sunset, when breathing momentarily stops and the mind merges into the pure space of awareness. Meditation in this form creates harmony between pilu agni and pithara agni.
