Mamsa Sara

The state of fully developed mamsa dhatu with all its superfine qualities, manifesting as physical strength and positive psychological attributes.

Signs of Excellent Mamsa Dhatu (Mamsa Sara)

Mamsa sara is present when mamsa dhatu is completely developed with all its superfine qualities. Physically, such a person has well-developed cheeks, neck, and shoulders, a broad chest, healthy biceps and triceps, and well-shaped calf muscles and buttocks.

The superfine psychological qualities of healthy mamsa dhatu include energy, power, strength, stamina, courage, confidence, determination, love, compassion, and forgiveness. A person with healthy mamsa dhatu makes money and has a strong sex drive. According to Ayurveda, longevity is due to strong, healthy muscles. Even in old age, a person can maintain good grip, muscle tone, and strength.

Mamsa dhatu builds weight slowly (five to ten pounds being a significant increase), works against gravity, and is dense, firm, and bulky. By contrast, meda dhatu (fat) gains weight quickly, yields to gravity, and is malleable and soft. Fat floats on water while muscle sinks. Without good rasa and rakta, it is difficult to develop healthy mamsa.
