Overview
Wrightia is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for parasites and worms. Wrightia tinctoria, a relative of Kutaja, is described as another species sharing similar anti-diarrheal properties. The seeds (Indrayava) are commonly used in Ayurvedic practice. The bark yields a blue dye (Indigotin). It is a medium-sized tree with milky latex. The seeds are small, oblong, and used in fevers and dysentery. The text notes that Wrightia tomentosa (another species) is also used similarly.
