Overview
Talisapatra is one of the herbs traditionally used in Ayurveda for anorexia. Talisapatra is the Himalayan Yew leaf, hot and pungent, that opens stuck lungs. Dosed 1-2g, it stills cough, eases asthma and hiccup, and anchors Talisadi Churna.
How Talisapatra Helps with Anorexia
According to Ayurvedic pharmacology, Talisapatra has specific properties that make it valuable for addressing anorexia:
- Potency (Virya): Ushna (hot)
- Post-digestive (Vipaka): Katu (pungent)
- Taste (Rasa): Katu (pungent), Madhura (sweet)
- Qualities (Guna): Laghu (light)
