Talisapatra variety 2

This is the Abies webbiana (Himalayan Silver Fir) variety of Talisapatra. The commentary discusses that some authorities use Abies webbiana or Abies pindrow as Talisapatra instead of Taxus baccata. The leaves are needle-like, 1-2 inches long, and arranged spirally on the branches. The cones are 4-5 inches long and erect. The tree is found in the Himalayan region at 2500-4000m. Leaves of Abies pindrow (Pindrow Fir) are also used. The drug has similar therapeutic actions for cough and respiratory disorders.
