Vatarogahara Dhanyamla

A fermented sour liquid made from grains and spices used externally as Avagaha Sweda (tub bath fomentation) for all Vata disorders.

Vatarogahara Dhanyamla — Overview

Vatarogahara Dhanyamla is a fermented sour medicinal liquid prepared from Tandula (rice), Pridhuka, Kuluttha (horse gram), Laja (puffed rice), Kangu bija, Kodrava, Sunthi, Dantasatha, Dipyaka and hot water, boiled on a mild fire for seven days as per the classical text.

Rather than being taken internally, it is used externally as Avagaha Sweda — a therapeutic tub-bath fomentation lasting for 6000 Matrakala — and is indicated in all varieties of Vata disorders (Sarva Vataroga).
