Valiyandati Kashaya — Overview

Valiyandati Kashaya is a large Kerala-tradition formulation containing over thirty drugs, including Sunthi, Pippali, Mustha, Triphala, Yashtimadhu, Mayaphala, Gokshura, Jati traya (nutmeg, mace, clove), Katuki, Ajamoda, a Shat Tandula (six-seed) group, Nagakesara, Tagara, both Jeerakas, Chandana, Gajapippali, Hribera, Usira, Yavasa, Kiratatikta, Draksha, Bilva moola, Trivrit, Medhika, Parpata, Guduchi and others, each taken in one pala.

It is prepared as an Ashtamamsa Kashaya and administered internally with Jeeraka Choorna. Its indications are Sannipata (tridoshic), intractable and complicated chronic fevers (Asadhya, Upadravayukta Jeerna Jwara).
