Sunthyadi Kashaya — Overview

Sunthyadi Kashaya is one of the most elaborate formulations in this section, indicated for all 18 types of Kushta (skin disease). It contains over thirty herbs including Sunthi, Nimba, Kiratatikta, Pippali, Patha, Haridra, Daruharidra, Trayanthi, Triphala, Guduchi, Hribera, Katuka, Vasa, Vacha, Bakuchi, Manjishta, Ativisha, Duralabha, Maha Nimba, Chitraka, Karpura Haridra, Aragwadha, Indrayana root, Kutaja, Bharangi, Mustha, Yava, Murva, Patola leaves, Rakta Chandana, Chandana, Shyama, Parpata, Sariba, Vidanga and Khadira.

The decoction is administered internally with Gomutra (cow's urine) early in the morning — a classical Yogavahi anupana that drives the bitter, detoxifying action deep into the Rasa–Rakta dhatus where Kushta resides.
