Panal Patiryadi Ghrita

A medicated ghee (also called Alarka Vishahara) prepared with Kamala bija, Trikatu, Vacha, garlic, Yashti and other herbs in cow's ghee, used as an antidote for rabid dog bite poisoning.

Panal Patiryadi Ghrita — Overview

Panal Patiryadi Ghrita, also known as Alarka Vishahara Ghrita, is a classical medicated ghee formulated as an antidote for rabid dog bite (Alarka Visha) and bites from other hairy animals (Lomadi Visha). The paste (Kalka) is made from Kamala bija, Trikatu (the three pungents), Vacha, garlic (Lasuna), Yashtimadhu, Hingu, two types of Jeeraka, Ashwagandha, Sitalchini, Patha, Draksha, Chandana, Triphala and Aragwadha, cooked in cow's ghee.

The decoction liquids include Panal, Patala (whole plant), Karpasa, Munja, Karalek, Sirisha panchanga, Madhooka, Bilwa root, Vasuka, Nili, Triphala, Sarpagandha and Ushira, along with the fresh juice (Swarasa) of Vyaghrapadi, Apamarga, Neyavalli, Brahmi, Bimbi leaves and the ten sacred herbs (Dasa Pushpa). After internal administration of Snehana therapy, it is applied externally as Dhara (pouring) and Lepa (paste).
