Narasimha Choorna — Overview

Narasimha Choorna is a celebrated Rasayana (rejuvenative) powder of Sahasra Yoga. It contains Shatavari (1 prastha), Gokshura (1 prastha), Varahi (20 pala), Guduchi (25 pala), Bhallataka (32 pala), Chitraka (10 pala), Tila, Tryushana (Trikatu, 8 pala), sugar (70 pala), honey (Makshika, 35 pala), ghee (1 prastha) and Vidari kanda (1 prastha), administered at half a pala daily for one month.

Its classical indications span Rasayana use, Vali and Palita (wrinkles and greying), Khalitya (alopecia), Meha, Pandu (anemia), Adhyavata, Pinasa, the eighteen types of Kushta, eight Udaras, Bhagandhara (fistula), Mutrakricchra, Gridhrasi (sciatica), Halimaka, Kshaya, five types of Kasa, 80 Vataroga, 40 Pitta roga, 20 Kapha roga, Samsarga, Sannipata and all forms of Arshoroga.
