Kukkuta Rasayana
A chicken-meat based rejuvenative lehya with coconut milk, aromatics and ghee, used as a tonic and for abdominal pain, hernia and spleen disorders.
Kodikulambu (Kukkuta Rasayana) — Overview
Kodikulambu, also known as Kukkuta Rasayana, is a non-vegetarian rejuvenative lehya from the Kerala tradition. Chicken meat (two pala) is boiled with salt and water, deboned and pounded, then combined with coconut milk from eight fruits, eight pala of sugar, and cooked into a lehya paka. Hingu, Chavya, Katutrayam, Pippali moola, Bala moola, garlic and Jeeraka are added as prakshepa, along with two pala each of ghee and oil. After cooling, thirty pala of honey is mixed in.
It is indicated as a general rasayana and for abdominal pain, hernia, abdominal tumors, spleen disorders and other abdominal diseases.
