Khadiradi Rasayana — Overview
Khadiradi Rasayana is an electuary built on Khadira Sara (16 pala) with Bilwa moola, Daruharidra, Ashwagandha and Amalaki (4 pala each) and Draksha (6 pala), decocted in 1 drona of water to prepare the Chaturdhavasishta Kashaya. Jaggery (16 pala), sugar (4 pala) and ghee (4 pala) are added during the Lehya paka. It is then enriched with an extensive Prakshepa blend — Maricha, Pippali, Sunthi, Ela, Dalchini, Tejapatra, Jatiphala, Lavanga, Japatri, Chandana, Talisapatra, Yashtimadhu, Jeeraka dwaya, Yavani, Dhanyaka, Kakoli, Vidanga, Ashwagandha, Sitalchini, Chitraka, Musali, Balaka, Kutaja, Twak and Kamala Pushpa — and finished with 16 pala of honey after cooling.
It acts primarily as a blood purifier (Rakta Shodhaka) and is indicated in asthma, cough, Vata disorders, wasting, back pain, worm infestation, and promotes general health (Arogyadayaka).
