Hutasana Choorna

A digestive choorna of Saindhava, Jeeraka, Ajamoda, Pippali, Sunthi and Haritaki, used for indigestion, constipation and hemorrhoids.

Hutasana Choorna — Overview

Hutasana Choorna is a digestive powder named after Agni (fire). Its ingredients are given in doubling proportions: Saindhava (1 part), Jeeraka (2 parts), Ajamoda (4 parts), Pippali (8 parts), Sunthi (16 parts) and Haritaki (32 parts).

It acts as pachana (digestive), virechana (mild purgative), deepana (appetite-stimulant) and ruchya (taste-restoring), and is indicated in hemorrhoids (Arshas). The same formulation appears in Bharata Bhaishajyaratnakara as Vaiswanara Choorna.
