Gudardraka — Overview

Gudardraka is a simple but potent electuary made from one prastha each of fresh ginger juice (ardraka rasa) and jaggery, cooked into a lehya paka. Sixteen tola total of Trijataka, Trikatu, Mustha, Jeeraka, Lavanga, Ajamoda and Dhanyaka are added as prakshepa, and after cooling, thirty-two tola of honey is mixed in.

Traditionally used for edema, weak digestion, anorexia, asthma, cough, chronic rhinitis (pinasa), pain, abdominal tumors, spleen enlargement, diarrhea and fainting (sanyasa), it serves as a warming digestive and respiratory tonic.
