Gopatmajadi Ghrita

Medicated ghee with Sariba, lotus, sandalwood, and Ksheeri tree shoots processed in Durva juice and cow's milk, traditionally used in eye disorders.

Gopatmajadi Ghrita — Overview

Gopatmajadi Ghrita takes its name from Gopatmaja (Sariba). The Kalka comprises Sariba, Kamala, Chandana, Usira, Kushta, Kshiridrumankura (Ksheeri tree shoots), Bisa (lotus rhizome) and Utpala kanda at half pala each. It is prepared with one prastha of cow's ghee, one prastha of Durva swarasa and two prastha of cow's milk.

With its cooling, Pitta-pacifying and eye-nourishing herbs, it belongs to the cluster of Ghritas used for eye diseases, continuing the eye-care theme that dominates this section of the Ghrita Prakarana.
