A classical electuary prepared from Dasamoola decoction, Haritaki fruits and jaggery, used for edema, fever, anemia and digestive disorders.
Dasamoola Haritaki Lehya — Overview
Dasamoola Haritaki Lehya is a classical electuary prepared by cooking 100 Haritaki fruits in a Dasamoola (ten roots) decoction reduced to one-fourth, then combining with one tulaa of jaggery to form a lehya paka. Trijataka, Trikatu and Yavakshara are added as prakshepa, and honey is folded in after cooling.
This versatile lehya is indicated in a wide range of conditions including edema (sopha), fever, abdominal tumors (gulma), urinary disorders (meha), emaciation, rheumatoid conditions (amavata), hyperacidity, bleeding disorders, asthma, cough, anorexia and spleen disorders, making it a broad-spectrum digestive and rasayana preparation.
