Bala Dhatryadi Taila — Overview

The Kalka (paste) features a long list of aromatic and cooling herbs including Madhuka (licorice), both white and red sandalwood, Kushta, Utpala, Mustha, Sariba, Trijataka, Jati phala, Karpoora, Satavari, Jivaka, Rishabhaka, Meda, Draksha, Kumkuma, Usira, Manjishta, Jatamamsi, Tagara and Padmakesara — each taken at one tola.
The oil is cooked with a Chaturdhavasishta Kashaya prepared from Bala, Amalaki, Guduchi, Usira, Hribera, sandalwood, Yashti and Vakula, along with milk, Amalaki juice and Satavari juice as Drava Dravyas.
