Aviltoladi Kashaya
An Ashtamamsa decoction of Puti Karanja bark, Laja, Sunthi, Vishnukranti, Yavasa, Punarnava and Ikshu moola, administered with buttermilk.
Aviltoladi Kashaya — Overview
Aviltoladi Kashaya is a decoction prepared from equal parts of Aviltolu (Puti Karanja bark), Alaru (Laja/puffed rice), Chukku (Sunthi/dry ginger), Vishnukranti, Yavasa, Punarnava and Ikshu moola (sugarcane root), boiled in eight parts of water and reduced by the Ashtamamsa method (to one-eighth).
It is administered internally with buttermilk (Takra) as the anupana, making it suitable for conditions where a light, deepana-pachana effect combined with mild diuretic and cooling action is needed.
