The steps for Talapotichil therapy

  1. Selection of herbal paste: The Ayurvedic practitioner will prepare a herbal paste using a combination of herbal powders, ghee, and medicated oils that are appropriate for the individual’s constitution and specific health condition.
  2. Preparation: The person receiving the treatment will sit in a comfortable position, and a small bowl is placed on the forehead.

  3. Application: The practitioner will apply the herbal paste on the forehead using a small brush in a circular pattern, covering the entire forehead.

  4. Duration: The treatment typically lasts for around 30 to 45 minutes.
  5. Aftercare: After the treatment, the paste is wiped off, and the person can take a shower or bath. The practitioner may also advise the person to avoid washing their hair for a day or two, to allow the paste to penetrate the scalp fully.
  6. Relaxation: After the treatment, the patient is advised to relax for a while, to allow the body to absorb the benefits of the therapy.
